We are progressing through a multi-phase remodeling program which includes the Cat Adoption Center; enclosing the front porch; building a handicapped accessible ramp and expanding the Cat Recovery and Dog Surgery rooms by approximately 200 square feet. The Cat Adoption Center has a new 400 square foot covered outside enclosure, with concrete flooring added this spring and the remodeling is complete on converting our front porch to a new feral cat recovery room (184 sq. ft).
The Cat Adoption Center was a way for us to provide housing for tame and feral cats, many of which have been rescued from abandonment or abuse. We’ve been able to rescue large groups of cats and keep them together until they can be adopted. Feral and shy cats are held with the tame cats and we are able to spend time socializing them so that they may also be adopted in the future.
As we continue to provide over 2000 surgeries a year, its become abundantly clear that it’s time to expand the clinic building to provide a more efficient operation. A capital campaign has been launched to raise the necessary funds and construction can take place as soon as the $50,000 is available. |
