In 2007 we performed 2647 surgeries and have reduced the number of animals that are coming into Flathead Animal Control, despite a significant increase in the number of new residents to the area. Since beginning in 1999, we have provided over 15,000 surgeries on adult dogs and cats, as well as puppies and kittens six weeks of age and older. Our Cat Adoption Center has provided a safe haven for over one hundred cats per year looking to find new homes.
We have assisted in helping out on several animal cruelty and abandonment cases by providing shelter, spays/neuters and/or medical care to the animals in need. We began a new outreach program to assist local law enforcement and animal control officers in providing funding for animal cruelty training. In addition, “Marvin’s Fund of Montana” also provides reward money for animal cruelty tips coming into the Crimestoppers program.
(Volunteers):
Making A Difference…
...one dog and cat at a time. Our volunteers, veterinarians and vet techs provide every animal with a quality surgical experience. Caring, compassionate veterinarians are the cornerstone of our clinic. They give so much of their time working with the Task Force, helping animals live better lives.
Task Force volunteers are dedicated, compassionate individuals that give huge amounts of their time and hearts to making the lives of companion animals better. The care and attention that the volunteers give to each and every animal is shown in a hundred different ways at every clinic and in the wonderful care that our cats that are up for adoption are given.
We log over five thousand volunteer hours every year, doing everything from fundraising, to surgeries, to cat adoptions. Dogs and cats are the loves of our lives, and it shows in the compassion given to each one of them. We always welcome new volunteers and if you’re interested, stop in or call.
