It is our belief that it is vitally important to provide feral caretakers and rescuers with a way to manage the cats in a humane and caring environment. We have always strived to educate the public that these “abandoned” cats deserve the same treatment and care that we would afford so called “pet cats”. By following the TNR (trap, neuter, return) guidelines established by national feral cat groups, we have put together a program that provides the necessary tools to alter, vaccinate, adopt when possible (tame cats and kittens), house when necessary, the managed feral colonies throughout our county.
We can loan out traps and crates when needed, as well as provide suggestions on successful trapping. Cats can be housed at the Clinic prior to surgery and for two days after surgery to ensure that they have a warm place to recover.
We work to make people aware that our services are available to trap, neuter and return the cats, instead of having them go to Animal Control to be killed. It also allows people to understand that these cats deserve to be treated humanely and that they need our assistance to provide them with a better life. We love all cats, but definitely have a soft spot for feral cats. |
