2008 FLATHEAD SPAY & NEUTER TASK FORCEPROPOSED BUDGET AND FUNDING PLAN
Individual donations, surgical fees and grants cover our surgical operating expenses. Surgeries are provided to pet owners on a "pay as they can afford it" basis. Typically, a clinic that provides 250 surgeries will cost $5000. Fees for foster cat adoptions also generate income. All other expenses for the clinic building, including utilities, food, pet food, and vaccines were raised through grants and individual donations (which have increased each year).
Clinic/surgery fundraising efforts include a new website, rummage sale, and a booth at the NW Montana Fair and a direct mail campaign. In addition, we are soliciting local businesses as well as our medical suppliers to provide their products to us at a reduced charge or at no charge. A website was created with “Montanapets.org” to not only help with our cat adoptions, but also to solicit donations. In order to raise money for cat food and litter, we are enrolled in the “Cash For Critters” program that collects and recycles ink cartridges and cell phones for which we receive money. We’ve also expanded our grant program again this year, with applications being sent to more than fifteen foundations. |
